About BOIL (Beyond Our Imagined Lives) band
BOIL (Beyond Our Imagined Lives), a post-grunge indie band from the sleepy town of Papar, started out as a three-piece band actively playing and organizing local gigs in 1996.
Initially influenced by the raw and catchy tunes epitomized by Seattle Sound championed by bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, the band laboured to compose and play largely, if not entirely, their own music.

After a short hiatus between 1998 and 2000 due to work and study commitments, the band got back together however with only Bartholomew and Eric as the original members remaining. They were joined by Ferdinand on the drums and JJ on lead guitar, lending a wider scope to the music with Ferdinand's jazz-tinged double-pedal power drumming and JJ's heavier metal-oriented riffing.
(JJ is currently working in KL but still remain as a group member: updated 2011) BOIL, with the members all holding full-time jobs, continued to spend what spare time they had playing gigs and small venues, with only one passion driving the band - the simple joy of playing their own original material LIVE.
