Starting off, Dang Bandangs was formed somewhere in the middle of the year 2010 where two old friends met up, then chilled out talking about music; Valentine Arthur(Karuk) and Richard Rickrodriques(Jiejie) talking their whole time off just discussing through bout bands and their music. Discussions then grew bigger till ideas of actually forming a band came to mind, calling themselves Dang Bandangs.
So they kicked things off and started looking for line ups here and there that'll actually fit in the band that they we're trying form. They got hold of Greg Olsen to play the bass with them, agreeing to it, they then got hold of a singer as well, and his name was Christiano Peter (Jude). They then started going for jamming sessions playing covers from the band Underoath Karuk (drums), Jiejie (guitars), Greg (bass) and Jude (vocals). Jude then couldn't commit to going full on with the band as he was bound to many commitments already. So they then continued their search for a singer and still kept going with their jamming sessions.
Karuk then met up with a friend of his Emmanuel Mojikon (Emman). They chilled out and started talking about music as well. Karuk then explained to Emman that he was actually starting a band, a post-hardcore band, where they wanted to run alongside with the genre that Underoath played. Emman then sounded interested and asked how many line ups have they had and then Karuk then explained that they lacked of a singer. After that night, Emman then contacted Karuk and said that he'll give it a shot to sing with them. So Emman was officially in by then.
Things then continued, and then an idea of actually having a female singer and a keyboardist in the band as well came up. So they approached another friend; Nina Zalikha (Nett) and Elyna Peter (Len). They both agreed on giving it a try. By then they had a gig but it was all the way in Tawau; Sabah. So they flew and actually gave the band a shot in the gig. They came back with smiles on their faces. The gig was awesome!! It was then a realization that this band could actually work. They then started making their own music and got serious.
After a month or two, they were then jamming their own materials and some friends came along to watch them jam and supported them through. One of them was Gordon Chin (Dondon). He then got interested with their music and asked if he could join in and play the guitars as well. They open heartedly accepted him as by they we're trying to find another guitarist as well and without delay dondon got hold of his guitar and slipped in crazy guitar works. By then the band was complete, but then Len decided to pull out due to an earlier commitment with Jon Paradise, and all of them understood and supported her with her decision. Len still committed herself being a session player for them.
Dbd progressed through with changes in the line up,Greg and Nenett decided to part with the band and Jude and Michelle stepped in as bassist and vocalist.Currently an ep is in the making and hopefully,Greater things.
